Shownotes

Our first episode got off to a great start with the world's only funny knock-knock joke. It had the added benefit of also being a great cow joke, so Amy is happy. Amy loves cows. Don't ask.

After introducing ourselves, we talk about reverse culture shock. Why is it always kinda weird to go back home after being in Japan for a long period of time? We also launch Cow Tales, really weird stories about cows. Did I mention that Amy loves cows?

Ever wonder about what goes on in all those neon castles known as Love Hotels? Find out as I regale you with my love hotel adventures. Here's more than you ever thought you could know about love hotels:

The most exciting part of the show comes at the 15-minute mark when we celebrate the 15-minute anniversary of Planet Japan by reading some very exciting congratulatory emails from some pretty impressive bigshots.

After the excitement of our anniversary settles down, Amy reveals a very shocking rumor about girls stripping in Print Club booths. Doug promises to investigate. Discover the truth about these dens of iniquity:

Next we invent an entirely new technology called Audio Mnemonics for Kanji. It's the world's easiest way to learn those pesky kanji. Today's kanji is the kanji for person (hito, jin) and looks like this: 人

Finally, we learn all about Amy's new book, "Guidebook to Japan." This is a really funny and informative look at Japan from someone who's immersed herself in the Japanese culture for the last 12 years. Head over to Amy's site to pick up a copy and be sure to check out her $1 e-books, too:
