I'm a new listener to the show and this was my first episode. You guys have a great show on your hands and I hope you continue for many years to come.

Also, by chance, I happened to have just finished a 14 month stint living in the Ehime Prefecture. Although I didn't live in Matsuyama City, I was able to travel extensively around the prefecture and did visit Matsuyama quite often. It's a great city and I'm certain Mike will enjoy living there.

In addition to the historical Dogo Onsen, the city has a nice castle, is famous for poetry, was the home of Natsume Soseki and has a lot of interesting food. A few of their specialties include: rice mixed with sea bream (鯛), an interesting sweet called "bochan dango" and a lot of mikan (tangerine) inspired treats.

Also, if you're feeling athletic and the weather is nice, I'd recommend trying to cross the "Shimanami Kaido" by bicycle. Stretching from Ehime to Hiroshima, the route consists of six main island connected by bridges. It's designed for pedestrians and cyclists and provides some of the best views of the Seto Inland Sea if the weather agrees. You can use your own bike or rent one at a place called "Sunrise Itoyama" in Imabari City.
